Documentary Story Consulting That Brings Your Subject to Life

Every documentary aims to educate. But audiences learn best when they’re emotionally invested.

Why Story Matters — Even in Nonfiction

You might be exploring a complex issue, a remarkable person, or a pivotal moment in history. But information alone isn’t enough. To truly engage viewers, your film needs:
Characters they can connect with
Moments that create empathy and curiosity
A clear, compelling story arc that pulls them through

Finding the Story Within Your Subject

We help you uncover the human heartbeat inside your subject — the tension, the stakes, the turning points — and shape it into a narrative structure that feels alive. The goal is never to force your material into fiction, but to present it in a way that honors the truth while giving your audience a story with familiar rhythms to follow. Whether you’re mid-production, in early development, or swimming in footage during post, it’s about transforming raw material into a story that audiences
feel, not just understand.

Support Tailored to Your Project

Every documentary has different needs — and so does every filmmaker. Whether you need a creative jumpstart, a narrative overhaul, or a trusted partner to help steer the storytelling from start to finish, there’s a level of support designed just for you.

Searching for Augusta is an EMMY® winning feature length documentary which tells the story of historian Martin King's search for a Belgian volunteer nurse. Many veterans had mentioned her as caring for them during the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne during WWII. The problem was that no one knew if she had survived the bombing of the aid station that famously took the life of another nurse on Christmas Eve 1944. Searching for Augusta aired on PBS.
